The Ende-Gaillard House

Ende Gaillard home in original location

The Ende-Gaillard House was built between 1857 and 1859 by Charles Frederick von Ende for his wife, Emilie Amelia Rinecker von Ende. Mr. and Mrs. Ende sold the house to their daughter and son-in-law, Dr. David and Louise Ende Gaillard in 1883 for nine hundred dollars. This Greek Revival house, originally situated on Greenville’s Stonewall Street, was moved to Graham Park in 1957 to save it from destruction, and was moved to its present location in 1996 for preservation. The house held a Recorded Texas Historical Landmark Designation from 1962 until January 1999.

After being closed to the public for more than five years, the house is once again open after a three-year restoration project.  The Ende-Gaillard House, the oldest standing structure in Greenville, is open by appointment for group and school tours.

The Ende-Gaillard House includes a parlor, bedroom, dining room, doctor’s office, and herb garden.
