The Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum’s
Division of Collections and Research holds several special
collections. These are primarily local history collections
that complement our exhibits and research library.
The Fletcher Warren Collection.
The Fletcher Warren Collection includes photographs and
memorabilia from the life and personal collection
of former United States Ambassador William Fletcher Warren.Warren,
who later became Mayor of Greenville, died in 1995.
The Reeves Coca-Cola Collection.
This collection includes rare and one of a kind artifacts
from the history of Reeves Coca-Cola Bottling Company
of Greenville. It includes a can of Coke that traveled
on the Space Shuttle Challenger in 1985, and rare bottles.
The Henson-Kickernick Lingerie
Collection.
This collection includes many lingerie prototypes from
the history of the Henson-Kickernick Manufacturing Company
of Greenville. It includes an extensive collection of
antique lingerie from the plant’s museum. It also includes
prototypes and artifacts from companies Henson purchased,
including the Marja Bra Company of Jacksonville, Texas.
The City Federation of Women’s
Clubs Collection.
Greenville’s City Federation was the driving force behind
many community improvement activities from its inception
through its disbanding in 1996. The museum holds
all of the Federation’s archives, as well as those of
many different clubs that were part of the federation.
